Public Relations is a great way to attract attention to your company in trade magazines, consumer magazines, blogs and television.  The National Stationery Show can assist in your Show-related PR efforts in the following ways to enhance your NSS experience and help drive your business forward.  Take advantage of these FREE opportunities!

Onsite Press Center

Maximize your onsite PR efforts by utilizing the onsite Press Center, a dedicated area for members of the press to register, review press kits and conduct interviews.

Press Kits:  We recommend each exhibiting company provide approximately 30 press kits for the Press Center.  Since this is where all press must check-in prior to entering the Show, reviewing the press kits on display is the first step for many of them.  Your press kit should include:

  • Your latest press release(s) detailing your newest products
  • Brief company history
  • Product images
  • A few samples if possible

We strongly recommend that exhibitors do not provide a press kit ONLY on a thumb drive or CD, as most press representatives do not take the time to download this content while onsite.  A visual representation of your products is essential.

We encourage exhibitors to hand-deliver press kits to the Press Center during setup days.  If this is not possible, they can be shipped to the following address:

National Stationery Show
c/o Freeman
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
Press Center - 4A Terrace
Attn: Show Management
655 West 34th Street
New York, NY  10001-1188

Press Interviews:  Your and/or your PR agency are encouraged to arrange press interviews during Show days with select members of the media.  Please note that publicists are permitted to utilize the Press Center only during scheduled interviews, and may not be stationed within this area to spontaneously meet with members of the press.

Promote In-Booth Activities:  A great way to get press to your booth is to host an event or special in-booth activity.  This could include artist signings, celebrity appearances, scheduled product demonstrations or receptions.  The NSS can assist with promoting your in-booth activities in the Press Center.  Please complete the In-Booth Promotions form to alert us of your planned activities, and provide a promotional flyer onsite that we can post.

To assist with the above efforts, a pre-registered press list is available by contacting Melissa Gray, but please note that press registration does not open until March.

Press Releases

Press releases are a  tried and true way to communicate your latest product information and company news to the trade magazines.  With more than 250 media representatives attending the NSS annually, a press release announcing your participation in the Show will help lure them to your booth and might even prompt some pre-show publicity for you!  Tell them about the products you will be launching at the NSS, provide a brief history of your company, and be sure to include your booth location so they can easily find you once they arrive.

A list of relevant editorial contacts is available here to assist you. Be sure to also send a copy of your press release to Melissa Gray, as she is in constant contact with editors and can factor your NSS-related news into the Show's PR outreach.

Best New Product Awards

Participating in the NSS Best New Product competition is one of the most effective ways to get your product in front of all participants.  Trade magazine editors from such magazines as Stationery Trends, Giftware News, Gifts & Decorative Accessories, and Gift Shop serve as the judges for this competition, along with an elite group of buyers, the NSS Delegates.  The competition calls out the best new products in the show in these categories: All Things Wedding, Eco-Chic, Celebrations, Lifestyle, Luxury, Paper Style and The Desktop.  Entries are presented in a Lobby display for the Show's duration.  Click here for details about entering this competition.
