Stationery Stories - What is Yours?

“Times are changing and there is no doubt there are many challenges in the industry, but there are just as many opportunities which keeps things exciting. The electronic revolution has left many consumers with a desire to go back to a simpler time, and what was once old has become new again.”

Duke Reich, NSS Exhibitor and president of Reich Paper

Having grown up in the industry it was an easy decision to start working for Reich Paper in 1989. Founded in 1958 by my father Dan, we are located in Brooklyn, NY, where we continue to offer a wide variety of specialty papers to designers, printers, and connoisseurs of fine paper across the United States and beyond.

Times are changing and there is no doubt there are many challenges in the industry, but there are just as many opportunities which keeps things exciting. The electronic revolution has left many consumers with a desire to go back to a simpler time, and what was once old has become new again. The craftsman movement, the resurgence of letterpress and the desire to use the best possible materials available have allowed us to continue to evolve over the years by providing the highest quality old world papers with the innovation and needs of the new world in an environmentally sustainable way.

We are inspired by good design and love seeing the end uses of our papers. Although paper is a very tactile material, we have found that social media and the internet have helped to promote the quality, uniqueness and uses of our papers as designers share beautiful images of their work and blog about the distinct features of our products. In addition, it has allowed us to open up an on-line retail store where stationers, graphic designers and letterpress printers can order smaller quantities of paper.

Being a part of the Supply Side of the National Stationery Show is a unique opportunity for us to meet with so many industry professionals; especially designers and those interested in product development. We look forward to meeting new people each year.
