Stationery Stories - What is Yours?

“We’ve been in the industry for close to five years and two reasons why we do what we do still stands: the bounty of inspiring kindred spirits we have met along the way and the thrill of seeing and hearing people respond and chuckle at our designs. It never gets old.”

Alice and Doris Lieu, NSS exhibitors and co-founders, ilootpaperie

Greetings (pun!)! We are sisters and have always had an affinity to paper goods – we’ve found ourselves buying each other the same card on more than one occasion so we can save them as keepsakes. Our cards are very much an representation of our 30+ years of inside jokes and things/people that are our sources of inspiration – and luckily, it turns out that the inside jokes are appreciated by more than just ourselves. We originally started working in paper goods when we created custom wedding invitations for our close friends; greeting cards seemed like a natural extension – a way for us to show our personalities and put to paper a collection of cheeky thoughts and visuals that make us laugh.

We’ve been in the industry for close to five years and two reasons why we do what we do still stands: the bounty of inspiring kindred spirits we have met along the way and the thrill of seeing and hearing people respond and chuckle at our designs. It never gets old. There are a lot of late nights and our adventures with Ilootpaperie really is a labour of love, but we feel so privileged that our cards have made their way to places where we have never yet been and play a part in making someone’s day everyday.

2016 has already been ramping up to be a big year for us in the amazing moments department – with our upcoming debut at NSS and our inclusion in the NSS Class of ’70 trading card pack – we are excited for what the future holds. The future is golden.
