BE OUR VALENTINE AT NATIONAL STATIONERY SHOW
White Plains, NY, January 31, 2017
“Design Our Valentines Challenge”
-- The National Stationery Show® (NSS)
is showing some love to the sweethearts of stationery. Exhibiting artists and companies in the upcoming show were invited to submit an original design to be featured on one of two official NSS Valentines postcards. The winning designs in both the contemporary and traditional categories will be produced as postcards promoting the NSS. Missing no chance to spread our love of Valentines cards, the winning designs will also be promoted on the NSS website, in emails, and posted to social media.
"Valentine’s Day captures our collective love for stationery in a unique way” said Kelly P. Bristol, the NSS Show Director. “We have been giving Valentine's Day cards to our friends, crushes, and loved ones since school days, and have learned the positivity and joy that comes with giving and receiving a card. This holiday was especially fitting for our exhibitors and this contest. We are pleased to have this opportunity to showcase the winning designs and share them with the industry.”
Designs were submitted to be the official Valentine of the NSS in two categories: contemporary and traditional designs. Cupid struck his arrow on the following winners:Contemporary Category
Winner: Valley Cruise Publishing
Valley Cruise Press in collaboration with artist, Rachel Peck created the "Will You Accept This Rosé" Card as a fun Valentine's nod to everyone's favorite Monday night addiction, The Bachelor. “This card was inspired by nights spent binge-watching and sipping on rosé,” said Peck. “This card is perfect for your Bachelor-watching BFF. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!”

Winner: Good Juju
"One of my greatest joys is using the natural world, specifically the animal kingdom, as inspiration for Good Juju Ink cards," said artist and co-founder of Good Juju, Juliana Tyson. “Valentine's Day is often wrought with preconceived notions and expectations about what love is supposed to "look like", but the beauty in using animals as the expression of human love is that they can represent EVERY human. Bears, and more specifically "bear hugs", represent a universal tenderness and safety and warmth that can be found across all different kinds of relationships."
Finalists in this category were:
Joo Joo PaperHonorable Mention
Although not planned, an Honorable Mention was also awarded to Inklings Paperie, for a design specific to the National Stationery Show. “Making the design specific to the show wasn’t something we requested, but we liked it so much that we wanted to recognize it,” said Bristol.
