“My wife Anna and I started it. I was actually in a touring band for about five years before that. She was doing freelance design, she had worked at a magazine as an art director and then quit.”

“We were working together already, did our album cover and posters for bands around town. That was a place where she developed a lot of her style I think, working in that world. At some point she started doing wedding invitations for some of our friends, as well as our wedding invitation. People seemed to really respond to that and I think she saw that this could be an area to get into.
Bloggers were picking them up. There were some excitement to them, they were very different than other things on the market at the time. So business started picking up for her, more and more of her freelance wedding invitation design. I decided to start helping her because she needed help managing her clients and so forth, and quit playing music to help her. Then she decided to come to the National Stationery Show on a whim. She found out it existed about a week or two before it happened… she booked it last minute, flew to New York, walked the show, got an idea what it’s all about, and a better understanding of the industry.
She came back saying she thinks we can do this thing.”
