Stationery Stories - What is Yours?

“Everyday, I’m sketching life into my numerous notebooks. Traveling inspires me, but my biggest source of inspiration is my everyday life in Montreal. I love this city because of the light, the architecture, the creativity, the smooth lifestyle and the gastronomy (yes, I like the famous poutine!)”

Marie-Laure Plano, NSS exhibitor and owner, Lili Graffiti

I always painted, drew… and created. To me, it was the best way to express myself and enjoy life’s best things. I grew up in Toulouse (France) and as a child, I used to be a model that my mother painted. To tell the truth, I was more interested by seeing her work than staying static! Visual arts were my favorite subject at school, and growing up I made it a hobby. It finally became my profession!

I spent 15 years in different graphic communication agencies in Paris. Meanwhile, I met my husband, the father of my 2 children, in a painting exhibition varnishing. Before immigrating in Montreal, I illustrated a family story of a great aunt from New Orleans with my great uncle, owner of a vineyard, from Bordeaux.

Everyday, I’m sketching life into my numerous notebooks. The idea of developing my own line of Stationery and Paper goods popped up when I was creating my first greeting cards for my family and friends. Traveling inspires me, but my biggest source of inspiration is my everyday life in Montreal. I love this city because of the light, the architecture, the creativity, the smooth lifestyle and the gastronomy (yes, I like the famous poutine!).

I love to draw my conception of life in my countless little notebooks. My universe is quite fanciful, a little bit naive, not too serious and always very colourful.
